I am a freelance journalist with a master’s in journalism and media from the Graduate School of Journalism at University of Texas at Austin. I have 5+ years experience in hard news and feature writing, covering beats including elections, government, politics, lifestyle, food, community, Asian American, and the arts.
I have an additional Master’s in International Relations from University of Karachi, in Pakistan.
My travels to 15+ countries gives me a global perspective. I am fluent in Urdu.

In 2015, I co-founded Austin Arts and Drama Initiative, a local non-profit, to promote culture that is now in the 6th year. From 2016 to 2020, I served on Austin PBS Community Advisory Board.
I love hiking and immersing myself in oil paintings on the side. Monkey Nest, a local Austin coffee shop, hosted my first solo exhibit this year!
My goals include writing for national mainstream publications where I can continue to highlight what affects American people.
